Spring 2019 Event Schedule

Did you enjoy spring social? Did you miss it entirely and wish you could’ve gone? Are you new to the community and have no idea what we’re talking about, but you want to go to a big LAN event with your fellow gamers? Well we have good news for you! There’s plenty of events happening this semester, so clear your calendars and invite all your friends.

It’s Just a Game March 9, Busch Student Center- We’ve all had that crushing stress around midterm season (and if you haven’t, you will soon), and sometimes it feels like there’s no escaping it. That’s where we come in. We’ll be hosting It’s Just a Game in March, a destress event open to everyone. Exhibition matches for League of Legends, Smash, Hearthstone, Overwatch, CS:GO, Rocket League, and more will be running all day, as well as casual matches for anyone to join. As usual, we’ll have plenty of raffles you can be entered into just by signing in.

More importantly, we’ll also be running a 24 hour charity livestream starting the night before the event. A number of our officers will be streaming a variety of games, like DOTA 2, OSU!, Fortnite, and plenty of others to raise money for Extra Life, a charity that supports children’s hospitals, so be sure to stop by our twitch page to support us. Even if you can’t donate, every viewer helps.

Scarlet Classic V April 14, location TBA- We’re keeping the location a secret for now, but this is the big one. Not only is the Scarlet Classic our biggest event of the year, but this is going to be the biggest Scarlet Classic yet. Tournaments that have been running all month will reach their conclusions live in front of all of you. We’ll have giveaways running all day, VR setups for you to try, free play areas open to use with dozens of games to choose from. Smaller tournaments like fighting games or smash will be going all day, and Artist’s Alley will be making a return so the more creative of you can showcase and sell your work. You won’t want to miss this.

We’ll also be doing smaller events throughout the semester, collaborations with other student groups such as HerCampus, and of course our weekly meetings every Friday night in the SERC. Be sure to join our discord server at discord.gg/rutgersesports and stay tuned here for more information as the events come closer, as well as weekly updates about our org.
